On Tuesday, 5th October, Hungary was affected by an ecological disaster when a dam holding back toxic sludge burst flooding three villages and the surrounding areas. As Hungary grapples with this ecological threat Totaleurop.eu asked György Schöpflin Hungarian MEP and member of the European People's Party what the European Union can do to help and how this type of disaster can be prevented in the future.
